Wig &treatments 6 yr old Veda
Donation protected
Update: with the overwhelming support we so quickly received I would like to raise the donation amount. The treatment we are considering consists of 12 injections over 12 visits that cost over $300 per each one, so about $3600 total. I am asking for $300 for the wig, and $3000 for the treatment. I already have $600 saved so with your donations we will be able to get the injections set up. We hadn't considered it before because insurance won't pay for it since they consider it a cosmetic treatment and it isn't necessary for her health. Nonetheless, we would love to be able to do it so please continue to share this link!
Hi! My daughter is 6 years old and has a condition called Alopecia Areata. She is healthy and the condition isn't life threatening, but it makes her hair fall out. She is in the 1st grade and though she has been dealing with this for the last 10 months, she is now finally becoming conscious of the difference in her appearance compared to other children her age. She has asked if she can have a wig, because she is "tired of not being able to do her hair, and of people always staring." She is my whole world, and it hurts me to think of what she must go through as she gets to know new kids in her class, and to feel awkward because of her hairloss. What it looks like is what you would imagine when you think of a man losing his hair as he ages; the top part of her head is nearly completely bald but the bottom is still growing. The wig that matches her hair is about $240 and the comfort band and shipping bring the total to around $300. We have already spent over $1000 on doctor appointments and medications to try to stimulate hair growth, so please help us out and donate if you can. We greatly appreciate any donations, and prayers as well!
