Donation protected
My sweet brother has been given 2 blessings lately. He has had liver disease and liver cancer. In June of this year, he got so sick that he has been unable to work. I have been trying to pay his bills buy setting up this GOFUNDME account. The past 5 months have been a huge struggle for him, physically and financially. Up until June 27th, he was working 50 to 60 hours a week. Suddenly the bottom dropped out and he has been too sick to work since then. In June, he was hospitalized for 11 days. He owes Erlanger almost a half a million dollars. The money I have been trying to raise has been for his living expenses. House payment, electric bill, water bill, homeowners insurance, health insurance, food and so on.
The 2 blessings that I mentioned are,
1. He got his liver transplant on November 22. He coded at the end of his surgery and was gone for 15 minutes. They did CPR and revived him. In the process, they broke several of his ribs. He now has pneumonia. He was suppose to be in the icu for 2 days. Today will be his 9th day in there. We are praying for continued healing.
His second blessing is that he was finally approved for disability. The temporary drawback is that he will not begin getting money until February 2015. I have enough money from donations to pay most of his bills through mid December. We just got a letter telling him that beginning in January 2015, his health insurance will go up from, $592.00 a month, to $744.00 per month.
Everyone has been so good and has helped him so much. Although these last 5 months have been difficult, they have also shown us how much people really do care. This GOFUNDME account will allow people to make small or large donations. Every dollar will help. Doug is very stressed about finances and that is something we don't want him to stress about. We just want him well. I am also asking for prayers for him. And, with prayers, I will be greedy. Please pray without ceasing and put him on every prayer list you can.
