The Gospel, Southeast Asia, and 24

To friends far and near, In the past 6 to 7 months my heart has drastically changed towards global missions! If you would have had a conversation with me, prior to this time, I would have told you that I would never go to another context outside of the U.S. to share the gospel. Seriously. I never had the desire nor even wanted the desire to do any mission work outside of my own comfortable Christianity world that I have lived in. This has changed. I see and feel the global purpose of the gospel. The gospel of Jesus Christ was not meant to just stay with us for our own personal enjoyment, though this is very much the inner reality of Christ in us, this grace is ALSO connected to the glory of God and His ultimate purpose to make His name known to all people groups (nations)! I would recommend at least two books for a further and deeper explanation on that previous sentence. The first is "Let the Nations Be Glad" by John Piper and the second is "Radical" by David Platt. So why am I telling you this? Through several circumstances, a door has opened for me to spend 6 months in Southeast Asia beginning sometime this May. I will be working alongside other missionaries in reaching a very high percentage (at least 85%) of Islamic, Hindu, and other eastern religion followers. My selfish pride has never been one to ask for help regarding finances, so I am humbly asking for help in order to carry this gospel to this group of people who deny the name of Jesus. Here's how you can be a part of this global mission. I know this will sound strange, so here it goes. I am praying and asking for at least 200 people to give $24 towards this trip. That\'s it! I really want a lot of people involved and informed of what's going on as well as a small sacrifice that wouldn't put a lot much pressure in giving. The two-fold purpose of 24 (my special number by the way) 1. A way to summarize my purpose in going: TO the nations, FOR the glory of God 2. A way of reminder to pray AND remember 3 Scriptures that also summarize my purpose every time you see the number 24 in your own life. "And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come". Matthew 24:11-14 "But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God". Acts 20:24 "And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth" Revelation 5:8-10 I conclude by saying that I really hope that you will consider supporting this mission. I am not asking for much, and I hope that you will be a part of this alongside me. I will create a blog site or something to keep you informed as time progresses, as well as updates (if I am allowed for security reasons) on what will actually be going on in Southeast Asia.
