Help Vashanti Raymond

Donation protected
UMKC alum Vashanti Raymond lives in Domenica, her home country. She literally no longer has a roof over her head. Hurricane Irma hit on September 5 and then Hurricane Maria hit, with 160 mph winds, on September 18, 2017.  Maria was the 10th strongest Atlantic hurricane ever recorded and the worst natural disaster for the tiny Caribbean country of Domenica as well as for Puerto Rico.  You can find more information here.

My friend Vashanti Raymond, a 2009 graduate of the UMKC School of Computing and Engineering, and her mother live on Domenica and have been struggling since the hurricanes, but especially Hurricane Maria.  Their home is devastated and they have been under very rough conditions since September.  Most building materials that come to the island go for rebuilding schools, government buildings and businesses that must get up and running.  It has been difficult for individuals to get the materials they need.   The financial resources are also hard to come by as most businesses were wiped out so people are not working as much.

Vashanti worked in the International Student Affairs Office and for IT when she was a student at UMKC.  She and her mother need the equivalent of $7,500 USD to be able to fix their home.   I hope you will consider helping this deserving UMKC Roo to rebuild her home.  Any amount can help.  Thank you for helping!
