World's Highest OCR

I have recently committed to attempting the World's Highest Obstacle Course Race (OCR). Touted as “the adventure of a lifetime,” the World’s Highest OCR aims to break a Guinness World Record in 2020 for the world’s highest obstacle course. This adventure takes place over the span of 12 days, slated for September 12-23, 2020 at none other than Mt. Kilimanjaro. Athletes will compete as a team in this quest that features the 5896 meter (19,344 feet) climb before tackling 10 obstacles spread over 100 meters in the crater in the clouds at Mt. Kilimanjaro. I'm looking to use this World Record attempt to also raise awareness and funds for the nonprofit Climb4, an organization that seeks to combat the ever-rising veteran suicide rate by enabling the healing of physical and emotional wounds through adventure in the great outdoors. Since 2011, when I got out of the Army, I have not gone a calendar year without a former Soldier, battle buddy, friend committing suicide. I’ve lost more to suicide then in combat. Hell, three years ago I was there myself. Depression, PTSD, and alcoholism led me to the lowest point in my life. Suicide crossed my mind. It wasn't until I found obstacle course racing and adventure sports that my life finally turned around. Obstacle course racing saved me, now I hope to use this OCR world record attempt to save others. That said, 80% of the proceeds raised will go directly to Climb4 to support them assisting veterans suffering from depression, anxiety, physical disabilities, PTSD, and other wounds that people may never hear about. The other 20% will be directly used to fund my trip to Mount Kilimanjaro and in helping me get to the top of the mountain and through the World's Highest Obstacle Course Race. Thank you all so much!!
