Miracle for Alex
Don protégé
With a heavy heart Valentines Day marked the beginning of our fight for Alex. Alex has been part of our family since Hadley was 2 years old. So far we know that she has a very rare (less than 1%) and very agressive Breast Cancer called Micropapillary Carcinoma that has spread to her lymphnodes. More test are scheduled for next week. She has an amazing team of Doctors in Dallas that are literally running circles around us. She will receive the most aggressive treatment starting with 18 weeks of Chemotherapy (4 drugs), double mastectomy, radiation, followed by 33 weeks of more chemotherapy (2 drugs). We feel like we have been told to pack our suitcases and get ready for a bumpy road…we just are not sure where we are headed. Alex came to the United States as an aupair for a local family years ago. She would babysit for us on occasion and we grew a friendship and bond over the years and became her sponsors to go to college here. It was her dream to have a college degree. Not only did she graduate with honors from college she went on to achieve her Master Degree in accounting. I can tell you she is the most kind hearted, loving, giving, selfless, genuine, soft spoken, and beautiful soul I have ever met. She is determined to fight this battle with everything she has inside of her. I ask for your prayers to lift her up as we carry her through this season. With the unexpected diagnosis we are raising funds to help her with her medical expenses and to fly her mother over from Poland once her Chemo starts. I will be starting a Caring Bridge page and will be updating her journey. Thank you for your help as it is much needed.
