Well before the sun begins its daily toast, while most are entertaining a final few moments of rest, approximately 300 runners plus crew members will anxiously await a starting call at the Santa Monica Pier. And when that call echoes through the still dark sky, a roar will take place. A roar of running strides, voices, and RV engines. The journey to Las Vegas will begin.
This is The Speed Project 4.0 .
Lovingly referred to as TSP, the 4th edition of the no-rules relay race from Santa Monica to Las Vegas will be bigger than ever. What began in 2015 as 1 group of runners daring their limits, has now grown to 40 teams from all over the world varying in size and intent. Nonetheless, the unifying purpose of TSP will always be just get to Vegas.
11 runners that met through BlacklistLA will participate in this year’s insane race. To help us with a mix of responsibilities including operating the RV, pacing us through the night and difficult segments, and capturing the best and worst moments, we have 6 of the dopest crew members.
We have been working hard over the last few months to minimize our ask by successfully securing a cash donation for the RV and in-kind donations for apparel, gear, hydration, and nutrition.
Our team would be grateful for any support you can send our way to help with 2 additional expenses: hotel rooms for our team and a partial travel stipend for each of our crew members to return to Los Angeles. All funds received that exceed our goal will be donated to our friends at BlacklistLA, a 501(c)3 charitable organization.
Our team is forever thankful for your thoughts, prayers, and generosity.
