I am asking you to help my mom, Cheryl Bogdan, as she battles cancer for the third time.
In 2007, my family’s world was turned upside down when my mom was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She received radiation treatments, which were successful in destroying the cancer, but resulted in neuropathy and many other side effects. In 2010, the cancer returned again in the form of a tumor above her eye; this was successfully removed with surgery. My mom continued to work, even as her immune system was weakened. As the years passed, we thought she would be cancer-free for the rest of her life. She poured her heart into her ministry work at Appleton Alliance Church, served her family at home, and enjoyed chasing around her new grandson.
A few months ago, my mom started complaining of unusual fatigue, along with a tender lymph area around her neck. After a CT scan and a visit to her oncologist, our worst fear was confirmed: she had cancer again. Just a week ago, a PET scan showed a cancer that had metastasized, resulting in multiple growths throughout her body, including her neck, back, spine, and the bone marrow of her pelvis and left leg.
She will undergo more testing this coming week, including a bone marrow biopsy, to confirm the staging of the cancer and final diagnosis, followed by a treatment plan. We don’t have all the information yet, but we do know that this past month has been hard for our family as my mom has become increasingly weak, has not been able to work inside or outside of the home, and is burdened with the medical expenses that come with tests, ER visits, various treatment methods, nutritional supplements, physical therapy, etc. Your financial support would be helpful in relieving the financial burden and supporting her healing in whatever treatment she decides to pursue. We are praying and trusting that my mom will win Battle #3 and enjoy many more years. She is a fighter, she has God on her side, but she needs people like you too.
