Get Jack to Cleveland Epilepsy Clinic

Donation protected
On November 4th 2010 I gave birth to my beautiful son, Jack. Since the day my pregnancy test came back positive he has been the light of my life. When he was born he seemed so healthy. When he was three days old  he had his first check up with his pediatrician. She noticed how his hands, feet, joints and hips were stiff. That same day he got many xrays and a ultrasound of his hips and spine. He was diagnosed with Arthrogryposis and both of his hips were dislocated. During this first week of tests and Pediatric Orthpedic specialist appointments he began to have seizures. By the time he was three months old he was on Three seizure medications and still suffering from seizures. While we continued to try new medications, we were scheduling the multiple surgeries he would need on his hips. As the seizures got worse and more frequent he was in and out of the hospital for treatment, spinal tap, blood work, EEGs, and MRIs. It wasn't until around his 3rd birthday this past november that genetic testing was done and he was diagnosed with four epilepic disorders, one of them being Dravet syndrom which is described as the most castrophic form of epilepsy with no cure. To this day he has up to hundreds of seizures a day/night, is on four seizure medications, has tried over ten different seizure medications in total including a special diet and has a VNS implant for his seizures. Today, July 21st, his neurologist said his best hope for better seizure control so that one day he may be able to walk, talk, eat and function normally is to get him to the Cleveland Epilepsy Clinic. I fear for my sons life and future and the Cleveland Epilepsy Clinic may be our last hope. Unfortunally we are a low income family and cannot afford to get him there for treatment, tests and observation. All donations will go towards travel and travel exspenses for Jack, his father and I to and from Cleveland from our home in Petal Mississippi. Please help us try to give our son a better quailty of life so I can see him smile more than I see him hurt, so I can hear him laugh more than I hear him cry. God bless everyone who donates and everyone who suffers from epilepsy like my son, Jack.
