Today my Dad, Buzz Sims, was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. (The fact that I'm even typing this right now, makes me so sick to my stomach.)
This diagnosis came as a total shock to my family.
My dad had been having a little indigestion for the past couple of weeks, which we originally thought was attributed to his gallbladder. He woke up early Monday morning with some sharp stomach pains, so my Mom took my Dad to the ER to figure out what the root cause was. They ran a bunch of tests, did a cat scan, an MRI, and an xray.... We expected them to say something like "you need your gallbladder removed" or "you're having a flare up from congestive heart failure"... not once, ever, did we expect to hear that my dad had cancer. Stage 4 stomach cancer that has metastasized to his liver.
My family means more to me than anything in the entire world. I am asking for your continued prayers and good vibes, but I'm also asking for your help. To allow my family to focus on fighting this, I am raising funds to help cover my Dad's medical expenses for chemo therapy, hospital stays, oncology visits, etc...
