Masjid in Houghton Michigan
وَمَا تُنفِقُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلِأَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُونَ إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ ۚ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تُظْلَمُونَ
And whatever good you spend is for yourselves, and you do not spend except seeking the countenance of Allah . And whatever you spend of good - it will be fully repaid to you, and you will not be wronged. 2:272
This is to buy a building to be a Masjid in Houghton Michigan. The closest Masjid here is more than four hours driving by car. This will be the first Masjid in the U.P. The majority of us are students who come here to study, and at the same time wants to keep his faith in Allah high. However, Buildings price here are ranging from $150,000-$300,000 we have collected about $15,000 locally. This fund raising will stop as soon as we get the building inshaa Allah. You donate for two things First- to help buy Masjid, Second- Help low income students, kids, and community practice praying and learning Quran.
The donation will be collected on behalf of the Islamic Center of Keweenaw Peninsula non-profit organization (we have just established this organization for this masjid reason). It is registered with the state of Michigan. All the collected money will go directly for this project.
