The Temple was established in November 2009 by Da Ge (MJ). Da Ge moved back to the UK after living in China deep in the Song Shan Mountains at the Shaolin Temple for more than 4 years. Da Ge is the only non-Chinese Shaolin Disciple of the Shaolin Temple to perform in the famous Shaolin ‘Wheel of Life’ show worldwide.
In January 2009 Da Ge set up his first Shaolin class in the local
leisure centre where he found some of his first students, trained 3 times for 9 hours a week.In the summer of 2009 his dedicated students began to train with him outside of class at local parks and gyms around the UK. This meant the new found Shaolin Team were training more than 20 hours a week and their fitness and mental levels were growing rapidly.
That same year the Shaolin Warriors UK were born and, as the first UK based Shaolin group, were putting on regular displays across Hertfordshire. Their Shaolin shows were something most people had never seen and the Shaolin Warriors amazed thousands of people in a matter of months. Raising money Da Ge and his team built the Temple from a old derelict building which is now home to more than 200 Martial Art Athletes. With the team becoming more in demand they applied to audition on Britain's Got Talent 2010. Since then, they have been in high demand for all manner of events, and TV appearances, including their own series on SKY one.
With a strong team of dedicated and talented students the Temple is now UK’s Number one Shaolin gym offering classes in all aspects of Martial art training; From Traditional Kung Fu to stand up fighting, Children to adult classes. Parkour to Callisthenics, Meditation to Brick breaking! We do it all!
As we have just turn't 10 YEARS old we now have a new DREAM! To buy and secure the Temple so we can continue to do what we do and help the local and wider community enjoy, learn and prosper.
As a goal we have set NOV 2022 as the date to buy the TEMPLE. This will be the end of a 12 year cycle and as we enter a new 12 years we want to start with a BANG! It will be the year of the TIGER so we have high hopes of attacking this goal fiercely but at the same time with precision.
Help us change the life's of the 1000's of people who use the TEMPLE. Securing the Temple will ensure we can continue the great work we do.
