Button on Your Smile Project

As students and teachers return to school there is a lot of uncertainty. Science tells us that masks are important to stop the spread of Covid. For many students, masks may be a source of trauma. Students may equate masks with scary medical procedures. Many students rely on seeing their teachers face for comfort or social cues.
During a time of heightened anxiety and uncertainty, we want to make all students feel safe and supported. Our goal is to buy buttons for teachers that have a photo of their smiling face. Teachers can wearthese on their lanyards or clothes. This small step may help to ease some anxiety as students can see their teacher’s face, even when they have their masks on.
