Buttelmann Hurricane Harvey Relief
Donation protected
During Hurricane Harvey, Warren and Maretta Buttelmann's home of 44 years in Friendswood, TX was completely flooded and they had to be rescued by boat. The water was 5' in the house and reportedly 9' plus with strong currents in the front yard so, they were on the roof waiting for rescue!)
Many of you have asked about how to help Shawn's (Shannon, Trey and Shelley's) parents, so, if you feel you would like to give, please find their "Happy Harvey Help" GoFundMe page below. While they have survived a lot of hurdles in life, this one seems to have taken a lot from their home, but not the joy from their hearts!
Over the Labor Day weekend, family and friends helped clean out the house and assess what could be kept and what was ruined. The pictures are devastating, to say the least. Rebuilding their home and just getting the essentials to live (clothes, furniture, sheet rock, etc.) will take money, time and patience. They anticipate living in the motel for the next several months. They are doing their best with the mini-fridge and microwave at the motel and making the best of their new simpler life ... yet more complex!
We appreciate your consideration, emotional support and most of all, for your continued prayers for them and all impacted by these recent storms.
For those of you reading this that have reached out and given to them already - THANK YOU!!! Know they have been blessed, awed and so appreciative that people are remembering them in this time.
Although it's not a tax deductible donation, if you are allotting funds to help victims of Hurricane Harvey, please consider. The funds will be used to rebuild their house and get necessities thatb they lost in the flood.
If you prefer to assist in a non-financial way, please reach out to a family member for other suggestions.
They are tough - they will be just fine through this!! (But if you do want to help - know it will be greatly appreciated.)
