I would love to be donating to the Firies for doing such an incredible job under these most trying circumstances we are currently enduring, but alas I cannot afford to. Even after witnessing them in action over the past few weeks.
My name is Shane and I live in Ulladulla at the centre of this tragedy. I have been overwhelmed and still in shock for weeks now, if not months, at the severity of these fires and the destruction they have wrought upon the entire community.
The forgotten victims are the ones who do not receive any financial support or assistance while enduring complete loss. This is me currently. My business is finished and my livelihood is lost, the rent cannot be paid and I will be evicted and forced to make a move I cannot afford. The debt incurred to establish my business and the amount I have spent on marketing leading up to Christmas has broken me, as the line of cars in the biggest evacuation Australia has seen took away all the business of this region for the year.
I am not the only one who will suffer, as this is a seasonal area which relies heavily on these summer months to get through the Winter.
But at this moment I am in an utterly untenable situation not of my making but certainly at its mercy. I am still in shock to what I have witnessed over the last week and gutted to lose my business. The photo is the interior of my escape room business. I put my heart and soul into this business only to see it fall amongst the bushfire disaster.
Please do not think ill of me for this as I am ashamed to ask for help. But if any kind soul out there is looking to help somebody hurting from the fires then I will accept any small donations to help my partner and I rise out of the ashes.
I require $3,000 for rent and back rent. $2,000 to demolish the business and clean the premises. $3,000 for moving and a little for supplies, after the supermarkets get re-stocked.
If I can raise my goal I will donate the rest to the bushfire appeal.
