Burn Victim Stephanie Basuoni

Donation protected
On September 15, 2018 Stephanie, my grandmother, was burned in a tragic house fire accident outside of the U.S. in Trinidad and Tobago. She was able to gather the strength to escape the smoke and flames and seek help, where she was rushed to the local hospital. Unfortunately, the whole of Trinidad and Tobago does not have a Burn Intensive Care Unit, so my grandmother had been placed in an induced coma with untreated 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her face, back, and arms; medical specialists reported that 48 percent of her body has been badly burned. Because there is no IC Burn Unit in this country, my family and I have been exploring ways to get Stephanie the immediate medical attention that she needs in order to survive. Recently, she has undergone her 1st surgery to remove the charred, dead skin from her body. Most of Stephanie's family lives in NYC and Weill Cornell Medicine-Burn Center has offered to host my grandmother, however, the cost to airlift her back home to the states is overwhelming and we are in need of funding for her transport. Personally, my grandmother has been one of the most pivotal influences in my life and for something like this to happen just breaks my heart. Any and all help is beyond appreciated.

Thank you so much,
Stephanie is sincerely grateful for all the support.
