Burn Survivor Travis Ashcraft

Hi, my name is Brianna. My 40-year-old brother, Travis Ashcraft, was in a terrible accident two days ago. He works in North Dakota in the oil fields. On Friday night he was unloading his truck when there was a huge explosion where a tank exploded, and he was severely burned.

He was able to call 911 and was life-flighted to St. Paul Minnesota over 1200 miles from his family & his home. As a result of this, Travis has second and third-degree burns on his hands, face, and knees. Currently, he is in a medically induced coma.

He is a loving father to 3 children. His wife Kim flew out to Minnesota and is staying with him as he is unable to advocate for himself. While she is with him in Minnesota she will be unable to work as well.

We don't want this setback negatively impact his life, as we are unsure what the future looks like for him with work etc. We want to give him the help needed to get back on his feet and continue to live his life as the hardworking guy he is. They are closely monitoring any potential chemical burn damage to his lungs and eyes.

We have no idea how many surgeries, skin grafting, and physical therapy treatments will be required, and how much time he will need to spend in Minnesota. Once he is released from the hospital he may need to spend time in a VRBO before he can travel back home, due to his injuries, and ongoing care.

He will be in the hospital for a few weeks at minimum. Workman's comp may cover a percentage of his wages during this time, but we are unsure of those things for now. We are asking for your help to give some ease to their financial burdens and help with the cost of the surgeries he will need for his burns.
