Burkey Family Hurricane Relief

Please help the Burkey family recover from Hurricane Michael. The Hurricane damaged our home in Lynn Haven, FL.  and devastated our income.  We need money for temporary housing, food, and life essentials. We have applied for FEMA but it is not immediate help, it’s an application and evaluation process and takes time. We have 5 children. Our oldest has taken a leave from law school for this year to help.  Our hotel room is $230 per night. We’ve been in a hotel since Tuesday. We are hard working people who are very giving. We have always helped those in need.  We are now those in need.  It is so hard to ask for help.  Most people in this situation will run out of money. It is scary we will run out of money.  Our businesses are lost except our boutique, Tutu Pink Boutique.  My husband sells Real Estate and our family’s income is 100% lost.  If you can not donate, we completely understand. There are other ways to help us.  One way is to share our boutique’s website for people to shop and that will help us in a huge way. Another way to help is by helping us get the trees off of our home and tarps on before rain gets here.  Our children are: 23, 15, 8, 6, and 7 months.  My breast milk storage is gone.  I am no longer pumping. Our baby is 100% on Enfamil NeuroPro and size 2 diapers.   I’m sorry I can’t find a family photo to post one of us all.  We found out the day we evacuated that our van (2 years old) has a cracked cylinder head and we evacuated not knowing if our car would make it but I didn’t want to chance staying in town while they fixed it. It was estimated to be $2,600 and we can no longer use that money to fix our car. It is our main source of transportation. We are still driving it. We no longer have a shop in town who can fix it. Our town is destroyed. We are staying at a hotel in Destin, FL.  and driving into Panama City during the day to try to salvage as much as we can. Your prayers are very appreciated and welcome.
