Bulldog Bites for Kelly's Crew

As many of you may know, our Clinical Director, Kelly (Quintal) Gonzalez has been out on maternity leave since April.  What some of you may not know is that Kelly’s maternity leave has been extended to a medical leave.

On April 25th, at 9am Kelly learned that she has stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer, and because of this, at 11am Kelly was on her way to Women and Infant’s hospital to give birth to her son, Emir.   Imagine giving birth to a baby boy and receiving such devastating news on the same day.

The very next week, Kelly was navigating the halls of Dana Farber with infant in hand going to  appointments, tests and consultations.  She started a 4 month chemotherapy regimen shortly there after.

Due to the type of cancer she has, Kelly has switched her treatment location to Houston, Texas.  She is now receiving treatment at the Inflammatory Breast Cancer Center at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston.  She has made numerous visits to the clinic for consultations, surgery, and will return in October for 6 weeks of intense radiation.

Kelly has faced this battle head on with strength, dignity and courage, even with some financial setbacks.  However, through it all what matters most to her is her family's care.  Kelly is the mom of three active young boys plus an infant.  We would like to help Kelly by feeding her family when she is away in Houston receiving radiation.

This is where we need YOUR help.   A Meal Train has been set up by the boys school and we hope to raise money to purchase meals and fill in available dates.  Any additional money remaining at the end will go directly to Kelly for any needs her and the family might have while she is on leave.

A quote from Kelly to our office assistant Sandi,  “Sandi, thanks so much for sending over the food.  The boys loved it.  My mom said that pie was gone right away.  They devoured it! Lol.  I really appreciated it.  Knowing that they didn’t have to worry about dinner on top of sports and music, classes, homework etc gave me such peace of mind.  It was appreciated more than you will ever know."

We are reaching out to you to help us with Bulldogs Bites for Kelly’s Crew.  We have learned so much from Kelly - her strength,  determination,  and her devotion to her family has been inspirational.  With your donations we can help her in the best way possible, by giving her peace of mind while she continues to fight so hard.  We know in our hearts that this will help her more than any of us will ever know.
