Building Women & Children hospital

The purpose of this project is to help fulfil the desperate medical needs of women who are either located in the far corners of the city of Garowe, in Somalia, far away from the only hospital, migrated from elsewhere or in refugee camps and can not access the basic and necessary medical attention they require. Furthermore, the only hospital in the city can not provide these women with adequate assistance. Pregnant mothers have even been forced into a position of giving birth in their own homes, with the midwives unable to provide sufficient help due to lack of resources. This is why we need YOUR help.  

This project is being run by the Somali Community of Victoria, Australia in association with the Women and Children's Relief Organisation in Somalia. This relief organisation has already participated and run many aid and relief projects in Somalia. This project directly affects our community back home in Somalia and has already begun, with the first stage of building the hospital being complete. The funds from this project will be spent in completing the hospital, ensuring that it is well equipped and ready to operate as a fully functional hospital.
