Building Joey Rizzo’s Trust Fund

I would like to take the time to give some insight into my journey of why I have chosen to push myself into running a 1/2 marathon. I have struggled these past few months with a very long time friends recent passing and how he left behind a 4 yr old son. I have been praying of way to help, not only my loyalties to a long time friend that I can never forget,  but how to help his son. 

Joe Rizzo was one of my first friends who greeted me at Dake Jr high school when I attended. Rizzo was always a great , trusted loyal friend not only with a big personality, but a big heart as well. He always had your back for whatever was needed. Truly a friend like no other. 

His passing this year on 5/19/2018 will be marked in my heart forever. Joe suffered a heart attack in his sleep and passed away leaving behind his son. As his valued friendship to me I wanted to be sure his son knows how much his dad influenced me and so many other people who care for him too.

In closing. I would like to run in Joes honor and donate any funds raised (big or small) to his sons Trust Fund to help with any future needs.  This will help keep my mind focused when I train and run the day of the Rochester Marathon. As I run, I will be pushing myself in Joe’s memory, but ultimately for his son’s future.
