Build classrooms for primary school in Kenya

Hello everyone and thanks a lot for checking this donation project first of all.

My name is Pablo, with a background in Science and also great love for illustration and anything creative in my free time. In 2020 I took a certain course to learn more about Innovation and Leadership techniques, and for the final project I decided to merge both Art and Science and apply it to education.

The objective was to help illiterate students anywhere in the world, by creating new academic materials that don't contain any text ("a textbook without text"). I got in contact with a primary school in a tiny island called Mfangano in the Kenyan side of Lake Victoria, and for few months the school director Bernardoh and his students helped a lot with amazing positivity, providing feedback about the illustrations I created (I sponsored the printing costs, they don't have printers or any computers in the school)


They even helped during covid, having to use banana tree pieces as face masks because they didn't have any other resources in the island (the government rules didn't allow them to leave -they also had severe food issues)


During the project duration I could learn many details of how they live, and see the really poor classrooms that they use. Rudimentary desks literally sitting on the bare soil, with minimal protection against the weather and becoming a big mess of mud with any rain. Crazy bad conditions, making learning so much more difficult for all students. This is an example:


I helped them with some donations, passed the word to some of my friends who also collaborated (Neysa,  Payal, Rob, others -forever grateful to all of you!!) and the school managed to make some improvements, as you see here:


So I really want to help them finish the classrooms that are still in a very poor state, and that is the reason that I decided to open this online project. The idea is to hopefully collect the remaining money they need (about 600 euros to fix the existing classrooms, plus the funds to build an additional one from scratch).
