Koh Samui is famous for its beautiful beaches and crystal-clear waters. For those of us who live here, the ocean is part of everyday life. It brings joy, livelihoods, tourism, and unforgettable memories.

But the ocean also demands respect.

Too many children in Thailand grow up without the opportunity to learn essential swimming and water safety skills. According to Thailand's Ministry of Public Health, drowning is the leading cause of death among children aged 1 to 11 years. These are heartbreaking tragedies, and many are preventable through education, awareness, and practical training.

That's why we are establishing the Koh Samui Surf Lifesaving Club.

Our Mission

Our mission is simple:

To teach local children the swimming, water safety, and lifesaving skills that could one day save their lives.

We believe every child, regardless of their family's financial circumstances, should have access to quality water safety education.

Our programmes will focus on:

Swimming confidence and technique

Ocean awareness

Understanding currents, waves and rip currents

Beach safety

Rescue awareness

Basic first aid

CPR awareness

Respect for the ocean and the environment

By teaching these life skills from an early age, we hope to create a generation of confident, knowledgeable young people who can enjoy the ocean safely.
