Build a Legacy of Healing Connection

THE FRONT LINES ARE EXPANDING.

As we deal with the current realities and the aftermath of this Pandemic, we need to include all of those on the mental health front lines as important resources for the healing process.  Just like doctors and nurses need extra support during this time, so do our mental health professionals, life coaches, parents, teachers, and others in the helping professions.

As we start to slowly emerge from this crisis, we will need to pick up the pieces as a society, and rebuild a world that is better than it was before.  We will do that through having trained and well resourced communities committed to collective healing.

What is The Natural Lifemanship Institute?

The Natural Lifemanship Institute  is a teaching organization focused on educating and empowering professionals who are actively working to care for others.  In our experiential workshops and consulting relationships, we teach about the neurobiology of trauma so that helping professionals like therapists, social workers, teachers, and life coaches can cultivate healing relationships with others through the intentional application of science.

The most definitive conclusion that can be drawn from the decades of research being done on the development of the human brain is that healthy relationships are the key to not only our survival, but our ability to overcome trauma and toxic stress.

We also know that it takes practice to heal and grow. Our trainings are a full body experience, so that our participants can literally “walk the walk” of being a healing force in the world.  We do this through a variety of experiential approaches including relationship building with horses, drumming, movement, music, mindfulness, and more.

It is our mission to build a legacy of healing connection, based on the real, tangible understanding of what toxic stress and traumatic experiences do to our brains and bodies, and what we need to really thrive.

What are we doing for those affected by COVID-19?

Our approach to the challenges we face during this pandemic is TWO-FOLD.

FIRST, we have moved all of our learning online.  We have offered much of this learning at no cost so that the professionals on the mental health frontlines can begin or continue their journey to understanding the brain and body’s response to trauma, no matter the financial setbacks they face.

Each and every one of us is experiencing emotional and mental upheaval as our lives go through such dramatic change - mental health professionals all over the country are needed more than ever, and they will need to understand both the impact of a traumatic event, as well as the best course for healing the effects.  Our training programs are comprehensive, accessible, and transformative.

SECONDLY, we have offered a variety of programs to support professionals personally.  Some of these services have been offered at no cost through Facebook and YouTube.  For some services we have created “name-your-price” fee structures.

As members of the mental health field ourselves, we are also acutely aware of the uniquely challenging situation other professionals are currently in.  Never before have counselors, life coaches, parents, and teachers had to support others in a trauma that is also simultaneously happening to them, all across the globe.  The risk for burnout is extremely high.  This is why we are offering free and name-your-price opportunities for self-care via our online communities, website, and membership portal.

What will your donation do?

A devastating fact about trauma is that the effects can last, imprinted in the mind and body, long after the traumatizing event is over. Anxiety, depression, abuse, neglect, substance issues, and damaging relationships can all be the result of trauma.  It is our goal that with enough funding, we can train and support over two thousand professionals this year, all over the country, to be uniquely prepared for what is to come - an army of skilled support to combat the emotional trauma we are all facing.

Every single dollar you donate will fund a scholarship for an individual or organization to be trained in evidence based trauma-informed care, which also makes it possible for us to keep our staff.  Therapists, counselors, social workers, teachers, life coaches, and other professionals will all need a strong foundation of the neurobiology of trauma in order to best serve their own communities.

When we hold the hands of those on the front lines, we build an unshakable fortress of resilience and healing that will ripple through our communities for years to come.
