Buhr Family Medical Expenses

Hey guys! This is one of my best friends and his family, Nate, Megan, and Ruby. Nate has been through his fair share of life. Ruby was born prematurely and spent quite a bit of time fighting for life in the NICU. This was one of the toughest battles Nate and Megan have fought together so far. Regardless of the hardships and battles Nate has faced, he has always maintained a positive attitude and is always happy and ready to hug you when you see him. Unfortunately, life has thrown another curve ball for my good  friend. He recently was hospitalized after suffering a seizure. With diagnostic imaging and scans, Nate was told he had a golf ball sized tumor in his brain. Within a couple of days, he was in surgery to have the tumor removed. After a week waiting for the pathology results, Nate and Megan were given the worst news of their lives yet. Nate's pathology results came back and he was diagnosed with having Glioblastoma, the most aggressive and fatal of brain cancers. This brain cancer usually affects older people and more commonly men. Given Nate's age, his prognosis is unclear at this time. Glioblastoma  is the most common and most aggressive type of primary brain tumors. Despite improved surgical techniques, therapies and radiotherapies, prognosis for this type of pathology remains very poor: most patients die within 12–18 months from diagnosis. My heart breaks for Nate and Megan, but especially for Ruby; knowing she may lose her father. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Despite this news, Nate has continued to look at the bright side of life and is hoping for the best. I asked Nate what his bucket list was, and it's pretty simple. He just wants to go out west to see the clear night skies with as little pollution as possible. He wants to see the giant sequoia trees in California, the Grand Canyon, and Yellowstone National Park. His medical bills are mostly taken care of, but they may need assistance with child care and transportation expenses related to chemo and radiation. I'm setting up this GoFundMe to help them with daycare and travel expenses as well as to help Nate live out his bucket list this summer. Please donate if you can, every little bit helps. Given the uncertain time frame of his prognosis, I would like to raise enough money soon enough to take him out west in the next couple of months and then use the rest for expenses related to his treatment. Anything will help. Thank you!
