Support Sigge's bucketlist trip to North America

Donation protected
Martin from Sweden writing on behalf of my son Sigge, 15 years old, who has the disease Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
Visiting North America is Sigge's biggest dream, to experience the continent's rich and fascinating nature and wildlife before he gets too affected by his illness. And of course visit Valve Corporations HQ and show off his CS:GO skills to Gabe Newell.

In the summer of 2023 we hope to be able to fulfill his dream during 30 days, traveling around USA and Canada by a van or bus adapted for his electrical wheelchair and mobile lift.

Two assistants need to accompany him on the trip and we'll probably need a "local" guide to facilitate it all.

The budget that we've been able to calculate so far can be viewed below
Hotel - 1500 SEK * 3 persons * 10 days = 45.000 SEK
Flight Sweden - North America - 15000 SEK * 3 persons = 45.000 SEK
Local flights in North America - 20.000 SEK
Car Rental - 30 days * 1000 SEK = 30.000 SEK

Every Monday and [email redacted]-ish CET, Sigge will stream on Twitch with the focus on this fundraiser - https://www.twitch.tv/siggelitocs.
To take part of Sigge's journey please pay him a visit on Twitch, chat or play a match of CS:GO with him.

Below is the story that I as a father want to tell and with that give you a glance of what Sigge and our family so far have experience
----------------------
"I hope to live till I’m 25, I think that might be enough."
Sigge was 11 years old when he uttered this sentence, just over four years ago. He’d just asked me whether he would die of his disease and received my affirmative answer to his question.

Then he and I lay in bed crying, hugging and comforting each other. We lay there together for a whole morning until no tears were left and... nothing else either. We shared (and still do) a great emptiness and an equation with no working solution.

For the next few years, Sigge talked almost daily about his thoughts and musings on the fact that he will have a short life. That he would rather trade "his Duchenne" for a super-severe disease but which perhaps could be cured. That he would consider amputating both legs if it would give him a few more years.

Anger, depression, self-harm and thoughts of suicide … before the age of 13.

Since about two years ago, it's been a completely different Sigge who wakes up every day. Happy and curious, witty and smiling. He understands that he is “in the middle” of his life and wants to do it his way and start working at his bucket list. Being online streaming and engaging in esports has changed his and our family's life completely.

Like many other parents, I have a need to tell our story ... tell you that there can exist an overwhelming joy in life even in extremely difficult and challenging situations... where the importance of being seen, heard and recognized must never be underestimated.

My most important task is to tell the story about being Sigge. A young adult who has lived a life in the shadows till he started streaming and engaging in esports. He now feels that he has something to offer the world, a place where he can thrive and flourish.

Sigge also has a different wish to build a "hobbit" house (he is after all very small) in a redwood forest but I have asked him to hold his horses on this one. This is not part of this fundraising <3
