Honoring Our Mother
Don protégé
On behalf of Joshua, Rebekah, and Rachel we would like to share some news about our mom. On March 8th, our mom went to the emergency room for showing mild cognitive impairment. She would forget days of the week, confuse names, and had loss of balance. Those closest to her, we’re sure you noticed, but like us, believed she was simply tired. It is with a heavy heart to say that she was diagnosed with an inoperable Glioblastoma.
Given all the information shared, we want to clarify and share that our mom is now in hospice care and that does mean we’re moving towards her final days. It goes without saying, even writing this, there’s great sorrow and sadness for what’s to come. Personally, we want to extend deep thank you for the way you all have taken care of us with food and other means of help. Truly community is the means in which God uses for us to experience his provision and love. Surely, you all have loved us well. More importantly when mom was more talkative, she would express to us how nice it was to know that you have our backs. Thank you for loving our family well.
Lastly, we want to share encouragement that we deeply hold onto. Our mom loves The Lord and He loves her. His promises in His word, bring great peace to our hearts knowing that she will experience this in fullness and find joy that will eternally be over her.
”And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.“
1 Thessalonians 4:13-14
&
”I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, “Look, God’s home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.”“
Revelation 21:3-4
Mom will only know joy, peace, glory, and love perfected. After every earthly pain, she will look to The Father and know that nothing that she has experienced was wasted. She’ll see that The God who called her to share in His suffering, is now sharing in His Glory. Hold tight friends and family the night is dark, but joy comes in the morning.
The funds raised will be used to cover any memorial or medical costs as well as help relieve some of the new financial burdens we have found ourselves in.
We love you.
Our mom loves you.
