Howdy, BTB Supporters!
The times of Covid are (kinda) fading. But the hard truth is that families are continuing to struggle to get back on their feet. Even before the pandemic, 1 in 3 American families experienced Diaper Need, and the impacts of poverty here in Portland have really intensified. PDX Diaper Bank is doing everything in its power to help, but can’t do it alone.
A huge shoutout to Robert Evans, and to all of the awesome listeners of Behind the Bastards. Last year you raised over $21K in support of our mission! The impact? PDX Diaper Bank distributed a whopping 1.1 million diapers to children and families in need in 2021. PDX Diaper Bank also prioritized outreach to 28 nonprofits with culturally specific programming, BIPOC-leadership, and/or programs that support communities of color.
Can You Help Us Raise $25K? We’ve Got Big Plans (and Equipment Needs).
With your support, here are some things we’re currently working towards:
- Purchasing 150,000 diapers in bulk (approximately 10-12 pallets)
- Programmatic expansion (serving more nonprofits with critical safety-net programs for families experiencing houselessness, job insecurity, mental health issues, extenuating educational needs, seeking safety from domestic violence, and more).
- Securing large equipment to increase our capacity for services:
1. Diaper wrapping machine (heat seal)
2. Forklift
3. Increasing our warehouse space
4. Commercial washer/dryer (for cloth diapers)

Mission & Vision of PDX Diaper Bank
In collaboration with a growing network of nonprofit and government partner agencies, PDX Diaper Bank provides no-cost diapering supplies to low-income and houseless families with young children, older adults, and individuals with disabilities living in Portland, Oregon and the surrounding areas.
Diapers create opportunities. We believe that everyone should have equitable access to necessary diapering supplies in order to live healthy and productive lives, and ease financial strain during the pursuit of personal, educational, and professional success.
