Bryan R Adams Memorial Edu Display

Donation protected
Bryan Robert Adams lived his life learning and teaching. Bryan's passion for science manifested itself in educating children of all ages as only Bryan could. After retiring as a high school teacher, Bryan became the first director of the Nature Center and Planetarium at the Brazosport Center for the Arts and Sciences. Years later, he decided once again to “retire” only to find a new passion- working with the US Fish and Wildlife Service as the coordinator of the environmental education program. Once that was built up and running smoothly he once again retired before learning about the desperate fight to save the Kemp’s ridley sea turtles. For the last two summers, Bryan educated himself and others to beef up the beach patrols searching for and excavating the turtle nests from Quintana Beach to the Matagorda Peninsula.

We ask friends and loved ones to help us honor his love of nature, exploration and education by donating to the Bryan Robert Adams Memorial Educational Display fund to erect the following four permanent features at the three sites as follows:

1 – Educational signage on the Quintana State Park board walk at about Kemp’s ridley sea turtles including their migration, nesting and efforts to save them.  Estimated cost $4000.00.

2 – Astronomy themed custom mosaic bench to be placed outside the Brazosport Nature Center and Planetarium. Estimated cost $2,000.00.

3 – Educational signage focused on birding, reptiles, insects and monarch butterflies hung at the Discovery Center of the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge Visitor’s Center.  Estimated cost $2,000.00.

4 – Large outdoor bronze wildlife sculpture mounted in front of the Discovery Center of the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge Visitor’s Center. Estimated cost $22,000.00.

With your support, we can encourage the work our dad was so passionate about.

My name is Sasha Tarrant, one of Bryan's 3 daughters. I am working with Bryan’s wife Vicky, and my sisters Jai-Cheri and Mickye to bring these memorials to reality. I live in Lake Jackson where Bryan lived much of his life.

Funds will be withdrawn as needed to design, print, construct and install the items listed above.
