Brookdale COVID-19 Supply Aid

Brookdale Hospital Medical Center is one of the largest nonprofit community hospitals in New York City, providing care to the underserved population in the heart of Brooklyn. It is also one of the most affected hospitals in Brooklyn by COVID-19, making it one of most affected in the 5 boroughs of New York City. Due to this current ongoing pandemic, our hospital has been experiencing a significantly increased number of ED visits and hospitalizations within the last few weeks.
Unfortunately, the need for essential medical supplies and equipment has quadrupled our normal requirements, thus further straining our already limited resources. It limits our hospital’s ability to provide the best possible care our patients need during this devastating time. It also creates detriment to our medical staff, including physicians, nurses, respiratory staff, who cannot provide the care needed while working on the frontlines. Many of our healthcare workers and their families have themselves tested positive for COVID-19, some to the extent of falling sick and requiring hospitalization.
At this time, we are requesting your help in protecting our patients and healthcare workers with assistance in funding and donations. With sufficient funding, we will be able to purchase limited resources such as ultrasounds, telemetry monitors, IV pumps, intubation and ventilation supplies, crash carts, pulse oximeters, etc. We will also be able to focus our efforts on appropriately equipping hospital staff with PPE such as gowns, masks, and gloves, thereby preventing risk of exposure or infection spread.
