Brock Hawes Competes at Nationals!
Hi friends and families, it’s Brock Hawes here...I’ve been selected to compete at the Canadian Junior Nationals for Freestyle in Quebec!
My plan is to leave on March 10th and travel with the Whistler Team to Mount St. Louis Moonstone, for two slope style competitions as part of the Canada Cup Series. On March 16th I will travel to Quebec City to train and compete in the Junior Nationals and return home March 22nd.
Some of you may know, I switched from snowboarding last year and this is my first year competing in freestyle skiing. We moved to Sun Peaks for alpine sports. Living on a ski resort and going to school on the mountain allows me to train every day. I’m disciplined and focused. It’s my passion and my job. It’s sick!
This is one of my many milestones to elevating my exposure and competition experience with the ultimate goal of making on Team Canada. At 14 year old, I’m in the entry year for the U16 age category and have already placed 4th and 3rd in my first two provincial competitions. Coaches, friends and family are seeing I have what it takes to compete at a high level and realize my dreams.
This travel and competition opportunity will also allow me to represent my awesome community of Sun Peaks, BC!
My parents are the ultimate sponsors, paying thousands for gear, training, and competitions so far. Flying across the country is out of budget….if you can help out with this big expense my parents would be grateful!
Total budget for this trip is $5000.00.
