Unfortunately, this week we ran into a few snags to getting our little guy here safely. My sister headed to the hospital on Sunday after experiencing some bleeding. While we were hoping that would be a quick check-in to find everything still on track; my sister was quickly admitted to the hospital with dangerously high blood pressure, almost needing an emergency C-Section.
Brittany stayed overnight in the hospital as the doctors worked to get her blood pressure down. Before she was supposed to head home back to the comfort of her home and animals they decided to do one more scan. Fortunately they did, but unfortunately, they have found more complications and have decided that due to the way the placenta is placed it is best for Brittany and baby to stay in the hospital for the remainder of her pregnancy.
As of right now Brittany is only 25 weeks along and little baby (WE HAVEN'T EVEN PICKED A NAME YET) is currently only 1 pound 3 ounces. It is really important that Brittany stays in the hospital under constant monitoring from the doctors. They are hoping to keep mom and baby safe until at least 28 weeks for his best chances at survival and a good life. This means at least three more weeks in the hospital.
This has put sudden and immense stress on the family. Brittany and her partner Aaron have already missed a lot of work and they could be here for another month or so. The costs are adding up. Just ordering a meal for them costs $14! We are asking for help to ease the financial burden of missing work and being in the hospital. If everything goes to plan, Baby is going to be here much sooner than anticipated and the mom and dad to be have had no time to get any supplies for the baby.
Unfortunately, the baby will have a long fight ahead of him and mom won't get to hold him right away or take him home and sadly, this is just not the way we were hoping this experience would be. We could really use the help in order to relieve the stress right now. Stress relief is a huge important part of keeping mom and baby safe today and making sure mom's blood pressure stays low to keep baby in the oven. Thank you so much for the help and appreciate the support to help get our little fighter home, happy and healthy.
