Nicolás Cruz-Mendez/Mary Britting

On Saturday, August 11th, Nicolás, Ray and I rented a wood splitter to split a dead tree I’d had taken down.  The job went great, Nicolás and Ray worked for hours, and just as we were hitching the splitter back up to Ray’s truck a terrible accident happened.  The splitter bounced and came down on Nicolás’ hand. We drove as fast as we could to Grady hospital where we learned Nicolás has a broken bone in his hand and will be out of work for at least 6 weeks.  

I am committed to seeing Nicolás  and his grandkids through the next six weeks so am asking my community to help me raise $3500  – that’s $400 a week to cover living expenses, and $1500 to cover accruing medical expenses.
