Street cats, community cats, feral cats, call them what you will, but they really are one of the most vulnerable of animals. They are the target of cruelty, torture, poisoning, being run over, disease and death.
These cats have all been either dumped at some stage or the offspring of domestic cats that have not been desexed in the areas over many years. Humans helped to create these colonies, so its time that humans helped them instead of pretending they dont exist.
This ongoing GofundMe is to provide these street cats with the care and treatment they need. All the cats and kittens will be wormed, vaccinated, flea treated, vet cared for and above all, they will be desexed to stop their breeding cycle to help reduce numbers.
If we don't help them, they will continue to breed, suffer agonising illness and injury and die painfully. Not only that, but we are racing against the clock before the mass cat cull begins that the federal government is commencing in 2016.
My mission this year is to continue to work to save as many as I can with the help of rescues and donations to prevent further suffering and breeding in colonies.
I alone cannot do this financially so once again, I am asking for your support to gently control cat populations with love.
Anything at all that you can donate is accepted gratefully. Last year with your help we raised an amazing $6500 on GoFundMe!
Every cent of that money went to the rescue, care, treatment and rehoming of cats and kittens. Because of you 9 cats and 46 kittens were given vital vetinary care and successfully rehomed. Over 90 cats and kittens are still in the safety of foster carers until they too find their new forever homes, but they are no longer on the streets.
A new chapter starts this year, for ALL of the street/community/wild and dumped cats and kittens in this beautiful city of Brisbane.
