Wistful Brewing is a unique upstart brewery started by three friends, that focuses on creating an all-inclusive community gathering space where consumers can imbibe in award winning brews produced from locally sourced as well as globally trusted ingredients. Wistful Brewing centers itself around approachable styles that veteran craft beer drinkers (Berliner? Hazy Lager? IPL? We got you) and those that are just learning (boy do we have some lagers for you!) can appreciate. All of this is paired with a scratch kitchen crafting simple yet savory sandwiches, pizzas, smoked meats, and pretzels made using our very own spent grain from the brewing process. Wistful Brewing looks to promote sustainability through every facet of its production process (from front of house to back), foster growth internally through tap-room/ to-go sales and regularly scheduled program of events, and externally through community events, organizations, and a strong sales presence in the off-premise market.
We have been working to build the brewery of our dreams for several years, and after many late nights and weekends of brewing, building and dreaming we felt ready to take the big leap this Spring. Unfortunately, just as we were about to sign a lease, the country shut down, and along with it, our investment dissipated. We were at a loss; it's impossibly hard to watch your dreams get ripped from your grasp. Despite all of the roadblocks (and after several beers), we pulled ourselves up off the ground, dusted ourselves off and began formulating a new plan to bring the best beer to the Baltimore metro area. We knew this was never going to be easy, so we've been working tirelessly for months to create a different strategy in these new and uncertain times, and now we are in the final stage of planning. This business is meant to be a beacon and a gathering place (when it is safe of course) for the community, so what better way to get started than working directly with the community we so desperately want to serve!
Your generous donation will go towards several items, including but not limited to: down payments we need for our new equipment, operating costs that will get us up and running, and of course the lease. We are so close to the finish line, we can taste the sudsy glory that awaits! Our goal is to be operating in the next 9 months, but in order to do so, we need to reach our goal within the next two months. If we reach that goal in under a month, we could be looking at operations starting in 6 months! We believe in a beer community that supports its people, fosters creativity and growth, and just generally wants to see people do well. We believe the Maryland beer community embodies those ideals, and we have the chance to prove it! We CAN reach our goal, but only with YOUR HELP.
