Bring Karley Home
Karley is a perfect little warrior full of sass and spunk with the most infectious attitude and smile. She is a child of God with a pure heart and a humbling spirit. She knows no stranger and absolutely loves everyone. She was born with a rare
syndrome called heterotaxy. She was only expected to live 6-9 months. With the grace and strength of God, Karley will be 16 years old in May. Karley has been through 29 surgeries, two of them being open heart to correct her congenital heart
defects. Currently, Karley is in the hospital with stage 4 pulmonary hypertension and congestive heart failure. We
have maximized all treatment options at this time and she is not a candidate for heart/lung transplant. She has no idea of
what a "normal" day of breathing is or even what a "normal" kids lifestyle is like. Karley has the best spirit towards life and everything she goes through. She is one tough little girl.

Our goal is to get Karley home and comfortable in her own environment. She is currently in Pediatric ICU and will be in ICU
until we have the equipment set up at her home. We are in need of a high flow oxygen system to keep her lungs
from failing and to keep them from collapsing. Her lungs are unable to do this on their own. Insurance is unable to cover
the expenses of high flow oxygen in the home because most set ups are not FDA approved. It has been like moving a
mountain to get this accomplished. We can not be the only people on the planet that need a high flow oxygen system at
home.
We have been in contact with a company in Birmingham Alabama. They have an option available for us to get Karley home with all the equipment and supplies she needs. The expense of this option is impossible for a hardworking, single mother of 3 children.
Here is a list of all the equipment and expenses needed to accomplish our goal.
30L oxygen concentrator $12,000
AirVo2 machine with portable battery pack $3,500
Generator (back up for the house) $3,500 to $5,000
increase in monthly electric bill (unknown at this time)
