Bring girls to GA from Puerto Rico

Donation protected
My name is Saleena Terry, and I am seeking help with bringing my aunt and two cousins from Bayamón, Puerto Rico to Atlanta, Georgia to stay with my family. I will take responsiblity of the money and withdraw all of the funds donated to the GoFundMe account to purchase two one way plane tickets for my nieces and one round trip ticket for my aunt, who will depart after a week stay to settle in my cousins.

When Hurricane Maria hit the island of Puerto Rico September 20th my family- like many others- was deeply effecected. They have lost almost everything, half of their house has collapsed, there is no electricity, no water and little gas and food. Right now my cousins (16 and 10) are attending school, but the school has all of the students in the auditorium together. They go with the family everywhere- to wait in long lines for water, food, gas, ATM access, and right now it looks like it will take some time to get things back to normal.

Before the hurricane hit the economy in Puerto Rico was bad. This loss has made things so much worse for the girls. We've reached out to them and have started assisting with things that they need to get the recovery process going, like FEMA registration (no power means no internet), but they need much more. With a heavy heart my aunt has decided to send the girls to live with my parents until they are able to get things straightened out and stable again. Key word is stable. This will help them not be behind in school and aleviate any stress they are going through after this traumatic storm. This will also allow my Aunt and Uncle to focus on the immediate needs of getting the house livable and help with the rebuilding process.

This is where we need help. San Juan airport is closed until October 20th when hopefully flights will be resumed. My aunt plans on coming with the girls to Georgia to help get them in school and settle in, and leave to go back to PR in a week. This daunting task is gooing to cost money that they don't have. My family is small and most have given all they could, but we need a little more to get the girls here. We scoured the internet and found that all airlines are charging at least $300 per person to fly- before taxes. That means we need to come up with at least $1500 to get them here- that's a big task and we need help.

If you can spare any change that would be great! A hundred $15 donations is what we need the most! The biggest push is to get them here so that we can start the girls in school before the year gets too far. This money will go to immediately purchase two one way tickets for the girls and one round trip ticket for their mother.  While cash is the greatest and most immediate concern we are also accepting donations of clothing, school supplies and toiletries. I have a list of what would be the most helpful and appreciated.  All funds from the GoFundMe will be withdrawn and be used for the immediate purchase of the three plane tickets, two one way for the girls and one round trip for their mother.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I will keep up with all updates on their progress and how they are doing.
