Bring Donna Home! Help us raise funds for an air ambulance from Greece to the U.K.
Donna has been undergoing medical treatment in Greece for over a month. She was visiting family in Greece when she had to get an emergency surgery to repair adhesions in her bowels. This is a really risky surgery and unfortunately she ended up getting a severe infection. She has undergone several rounds of surgery and has been in and out of an induced coma and on a ventilator for about a month.
Because she was in Greece when this happened, the insurance doesn't cover a flight back to England where Donna can get better medical care and be closer to family. As you can imagine, there is never a good time for this to happen, but COVID has proven this to be even more challenging. Her loving husband, Cat, and her sister Pauline and brother-in-law Alan have been doing as much as they can to support her. Unfortunately, with lockdown in effect, only Cat is able to be by her side. The medical care hasn't been the best in Greece, and the funds to bring her home will cover the cost of her air ambulance so that she can get the medical attention she deserves. This is super important because she still has open wounds that the hospital in Greece does not have the appropriate medical grade gauze to close her with. She's been a fighter -- so please help bring her home!
