COVID 19 has affected everyone. In Texas, the 51% alcohol establishments have been all but shuttered by Governor Abbott's 2nd mandate of closure that went into effect on June 26th.
With no word from Gov Abbott on when bars, breweries, and wineries can reopen, TABC has stepped in an offered a solution..the Food & Beverage Permit. This permit allows 51% establishments to reopen as a restaurant if they have a kitchen onsite or a permanent food truck.
Our taproom is vital to the success of our brewery. The taproom operates at the retail level, but for over 100+ days of 2020 we have been forced to operate solely at the wholesale level which has been devastating to say the least. While we do distribute to stores and businesses around Brazos County, our taproom is actually where most of our revenue comes from. Covid has shut down many of our primary off-premise accounts that we distribute to as well.
Once the F&B permit was established as a way to reopen, we thought back to our days of our Northgate Brewpub.

Bringing back some of our most favorited menu items is the ONLY way we can survive Abbott's Covid19 closures.
We are asking for $50,000 to help in the purchase and set up of a food truck/trailer that will be permanently parked at our brewery taproom. Thursday-Sunday you will be able to get all your favorite menu items from BWD (including pitchers of mimosas) and enjoy the atmosphere in beautiful Downtown Bryan.
Being able to provide a food option and open our taproom is the ONLY way BWD is going to survive until the end of the year. If you saw the Texas Craft Brewer's Guild survey, 1/3 of Texas breweries do not expect to survive into the Fall, and 2/3 could close by December 2020 if something doesn't change soon!
Our taproom gives you a chance to hang out with friends in a unique atmosphere and see the inner workings of the manufacturing process. Please help us get this truck going so we can continue to bring you quality beer, fun, and now FOOD!
