Bring a Colombian orphan to Aus

Hi everyone many of you know my story. I am the daughter of Colombian immigrants who lives eternally grateful to my parents for coming to this amazing country to give me an amazing life. They did this through giving me one gift they could afford, an education, something neither of my parents ever had. Schooling and university has given me so many choices in life which has allowed me to give my own family a priviledged and also amazing life. To pay this forward we found a small orphanage in the mountains of Medellin, Colombian La Fundaicion Evolucion del Pensamiento who look after 120 children aged 4 to 17. Education is their focus and believe that through education and leadership, the children will prosper. Their motto is Building Leaders For the World. When we met these beautiful children and the founders we knew we had found a charity to support and believe in. We started in 2013 with12 Australian families who generously support 15 kids every year since 2013. To support them further, we have previously raised funds to send 2 teachers to live with them for 3 to 6 month periods. This year we are switching it up. We are raising funds to bring to Australia one of the orphans to live with us and experience an Australian education. They will see and learn new things and be able to share these experiences with the other children when they return to Colombia. To raise funds Brian and myself will be running the Brisbane half marathon on the 6 August. Your support in making this possible is appreciated beyond words.
