The Brighton Coffeehouse opened almost two years ago. The first year was fun! We packed in over 100 events including plays, cabarets, open mics and comedy shows. The second year in business was shaping up nicely with our new patio and strong community support!
When Covid came along, we were running a sold out play, rehearsing an original musical with a cast full of BHS students and alumni with a sold out comedy show to follow! We survived the first shutdown with exceptional support from the community, We trimmed expenses and took loans. The second shutdown put us in a more vulnerable position. Still Brighton has poured out support for the BCAT and we are so grateful! So we want to say a big thank to everyone who has come in for a coffees to go,
for sandwiches to go and thank you to those who have bought our pastries for the entire office staff where they work! Thank you to those who have bought gift cards and mugs and bags of coffee for Christmas gifts! We are still here because of you! We want everyone to be careful and to be safe and healthy. So if you are looking for a contactless way to support the Brighton Coffeehouse and Theater, we are starting a gofundme. Funds will be used for payroll to keep staff on, rent, taxes and utilities etc. The BCAT will be part of the Brighton community for years to come!
