Briett's Medical Fund

Hi family and friends!

Many of you reading this already know Briett Wood, but for those who don’t, her closest friends and family will tell you what a caring partner, daughter, sister, aunt and friend she is.

On Tuesday, June 6th, while Briett was at work on her shift as a paramedic she suffered a grand mal seizure.  Everyone who loves her is so incredibly grateful that she was at work when this happened.  Her co-worker, an EMT, immediately recognized what was happening and called for another ambulance.  A flood of assistance showed up as co-workers and colleagues quickly figured out from the details over the radio that it was Briett.  They were amazing and she was rushed to the hospital where, after testing a large mass was discovered  on her brain requiring major brain surgery, happening today. Her mom and her sister Courtney drove up shortly after hearing the news to be with her. And her dad arrived soon after that. Her other sister, Brandi, lives in Texas.  Unfortunately, Brandi is still recovering from some fairly major surgery of her own so couldn’t make the trip, but she is with her little sis in spirit and love.

Briett and her boyfriend Joe, a wonderfully supportive guy, recently relocated from out of state to Cheyenne Wyoming and unfortunately she is not yet covered under a healthcare plan.  Of course, that is just the worst timing! But that’s how life is sometimes. Her doctors have told mom that she can expect to be out of work after her surgery for at least 3 months.

We know that Briett is going to have numerous medical bills the extent of which are unknown at this time.  Not only is she facing that, but there are the more immediate needs of rent, utilities, and other living expenses to worry about.  As a  paramedic who has provided emergency medical care for the people in the communities in which she's lived in all sorts of situations, Briett has always put the needs of those she served above her own.

This page has been created to help take the financial pressure off of Briett during this very stressful time. Hospital expenses and financial burdens can get overwhelming and add up quickly. Any donation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for your support!
