Bridgette Lightbody
Don protégé
Hi Friends of Bridgette, Dave & Theo.
I hope this message finds you well. As some of you may or may not know, Bridgette is currently facing an uphill battle with her health. She's been in and out of hospital waiting rooms, trying to manage motherhood and work without a family doctor. She has spent countless hours in the ER before they could provide a diagnosis.
The recent diagnosis is Ulcerative Colitis, and since diagnosis, she has had some slight complications. She has spent the better part of the last few months in excruciating chronic pain, unable to function as the normal, energetic Bridgette that we know and love. She was set to head back this weekend to Fredericton with Theo so she could stay with some family for a while, but instead drove herself to the hospital on Thursday and has been admitted since. Getting out of bed is tough for her most days, and as a result, her job has had to go on the back burner for the last few months. Dave has been taking care of Theo, with help from his sister in St John, to give Bridgette some time to rest.
I can only imagine the tremendous stress she must be under, not just financially but also being away from her family and friends.
We all know how much Bridgette, Dave, and Theo mean to us, and I believe we can come together to provide her with the support she needs during this challenging time. No matter the size, any contribution would make a difference.
If you are able and willing to contribute, I have set up a GoFundMe. I haven’t told them yet, so I’d like to keep it private between us close to her until I have let her know.
Bridgette has been staying positive, and we all know she is a tough cookie.
Lets show Bridgette, Dave, and Theo how much support they have and how much they mean to us. ❤️
Understanding that we are in a time where some others might be struggling financially as well! Please don’t feel pressure to contribute. ❤️
Feel free to message or call me if you have any questions or concerns! I’m spending tomorrow night with her at the hospital and I’ll have much more information then. They are currently testing more and switching her meds so she can hopefully things take a turn for the better.
Steph
