Bridget Beaudry Porter

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

 

On April 21st, Bridget, a wife and mother to an 18 month year old baby, suffered a spontaneous cardiac arrest while driving to work. She was not alive when the paramedics came and they tried 3 times with AED and she remained unconscious. After heart surgery, Bridget needed a heart-transplant and remained in a coma for 5 days. We are all relieved that she is part of the small percentage of coma survivors and after 30 days in ICU/hospital has a future of being able to function without a heart-transplant. Now, she has used all her sick days, and she will lose her medical insurance in a couple months. Bridget and her family will lose their apartment as the situation has been rough on them financially with the lack of one income.

 

A teacher of 16 years, Bridget has been an Art Teacher at Laguna Beach High school for the past 11 years, actively supporting and helping teens realize their creative potential, and collaborating with Laguna Beach Elementary schools in an specially designed art program for young children.
