And the best part is that the proceeds from the evening will all go to Bridgeport Youth Lacrosse (BYL). Don Wilson founded BYL ten years ago (see mission statement and web link below). He's a great guy whose enthusiasm is infectious. His program is a beacon of light for inner city kids. He could use our support.
If you've never heard the Alpaca Gnomes, you are in for a treat. These folks know how to have fun! Check out their website (https://www.thealpacagnomes.com) to get a flavor of their unique musical talents. When the Gnomes aren't on stage, DJ extraordinaire Jim Dunn will fill the night air on the banks of the Mill River with his incredible range of musical favorites. Come dance the night away in a casual environment for a great cause!
We are expecting a large turnout and do not have unlimited space so lock in your spot now at Mill Hollow Park (next to the Macoy's at 732 Bronson Road, Southport, CT 06890). Buy your ticket(s) here or, even better, use Venmo (@BYLfundraiser) (no fees; more money to BYL). Please make sure to include on the memo line how many people will be attending so we can plan accordingly. Print out your receipt and bring it with you on the night of the concert. It will serve as your ticket. If you'll be on vacation or out of town, consider a donation of "honorary tickets" of $25, $50 or whatever you can afford.
We also ask that you help us spread the word to any friends or coworkers that might be interested in attending or making a donation to BYL. Send this email or text it to your list of contacts and let's see how big we can get this thing with just word of mouth!
WE are BYLSA training healthy minds and bodies, inspiring greatness, character, and strength. Join our new sports academy and remember...sportsmanship is your character!
Our Mission: "Striving To Impact Youth In The Development Of Self-Confidence, Self-Discipline, And Dedication For The Skills Necessary To Succeed In Sports And Life". One of BYLSA's biggest goals is to diminish the disparity between sports programs available to Bridgeport's urban youth as compared to their suburban counterparts.
BYLSA currently serves over 350 youth in the Bridgeport metro-area. BYLSA is the only program of its kind in Bridgeport CT that offers youth the chance to experience unique opportunities not offered in all inner city environments. It gives the participants a constructive, supervised activity to learn new skills, develop sportsmanship, experience leadership opportunities, and to get ample exercise. BYLSA offers educational services, college prep, peer counseling, non-traditional sports AND our crowning jewels- our S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math Programs), Mental Health Counselors, and Nutrition programs.
