Brianna’s Double Lung Transplant Fund

Brianna developed a very rare interstitial lung disease called Chronic Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis at the age of 18 years old. This progressive disease will cause persistent lung scarring and infections that can lead to pulmonary failure and death.
Brianna’s health has significantly declined over the past eight months leaving her with a lung capacity of thirty percent, which has diminished her quality of life. She has been hospitalized numerous times due to infections, and multiple pneumothoraces (collapsed lung). These events have led the doctors to make the decision of putting her on the Lung transplant list.
By the Grace of God, after battling this disease for eight years, Brianna was blessed to finally receive a double lung transplant on June 23rd of this year! The recovery after lung transplant can be long and difficult that will require specialized medical care. The donations will not only help pay for expenses for lung transplant that are not covered by insurance, but it will also help Brianna pay for the long term medical care she will need in the future.
Brianna has worked tremendously hard to manage this life threatening disease with a positive and determined attitude. She has fought her way through three years of nursing school, hoping to graduate with her class in the spring of 2020! Her love and joy is infectious and she has been a blessing to many throughout her life. She has big aspirations for the future, and we are thankful that this transplant will give her a second chance at life and an opportunity to not only pursue her dreams, but to be a inspiration to others.
