Brianna Dorsey's Quest

Brianna plays for the Germantown Lady Panthers (GLPs) and started as an eighth grader last year on the 2nd tier team. The GLPs are part of the NCAA Basketball Certification System (NCAA-BBCS) and is the primary pipeline (not high school) for player recognition leading to college scholarships. This past season (fall/winter 2017-2018), Brianna started for Seneca Valley HS as the only freshman (9th grader) varsity player! Presently, Brianna has been selected to the 1st team for the GLPs which garners valuable exposure and experience.  This is a team of 11 girls selected from Montgomery County with some from Prince George's and Frederick Counties. As a 5’11’ HS freshman, she will have three seasons of play as opposed to the usual two seasons leading up to the college level. Brianna has a bright future to excel and be recognized. It is also important to note that she will be an excellent college student since she currently carries a 3.6 GPA and a state student/athlete award.

Funds are needed to finance travelling to various tournament locations: March 29-30 New Jersey; April 19-22 Louisville KY; May-June TBD; July 5-8 Louisville KY; July 10-12 Chicago ILL; July 27-29 Atlanta GA; September 29-30 New Jersey. These are the out-of-town journeys where we are unsure of the total financial requirements. The costs include food, lodging, travel expenses. Once we are aware of what lies ahead, we can make better plans.

Needless to say, we greatly appreciate the help in getting Brianna started in this new phase of her life.  (Note: the Atlanta trip depends on qualifying)
