It takes a Village and a Village is what we have!
On Saturday, June 15, Brian Westerberg, loving husband, father, treasured friend and fellow Agritopian was involved in a serious, near fatal bicycle accident in Gilbert AZ.
He was transported to Chandler Regional hospital with head trauma and was placed in the ICU in a medically-induced coma. It was later discovered that during the fall Brian also endured multiple significant injuries, including a skull fracture, acute subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, 3 broken ribs, a broken clavicle and a collapsed lung.
Brian has been told by doctors that he is very lucky to be alive and the road to recovery for him may be long and uncertain.
His family doesn’t know when he will be able to return to his normal life. He is a contractor for Boeing, so insurance coverage is minimal, and the ability to return to this position is uncertain.
In true humanity form, there has been a tremendous outpouring of people wanting to help and support in any way they can - and we’re hoping the gofundme account will cover growing medical bills and time off work for both, Brian and his wife.
The hope is that together as a community we will help Brian and his family focus more on Brian’s healing in lieu of the potential financial burden.

In addition to the gofundme account we will be holding a benefit “pop up shop” in the Agritopia community building August 17th. We will be featuring local neighborhood artisans and aspiring (kid) artists and chefs!
