Brian Shortz

As many of you are aware, Brian Shortz suffered what was believed to have been a stroke while at his home last Thursday, March 29th.  Brian was immediately taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.  Brian retained his mobility but was largely unable to communicate verbally. The following day, Brian was transferred to Kaiser Morse Neurology for additional testing.  Brian’s doctors performed a biopsy and have diagnosed Brian with a brain tumor. Brian recently was discharged but will need 24 hour in home care.  His wife Mary who is also a member of the department family, and his daughter, Megan, have been constantly by his side.  In an attempt to assist the family and offset the costly 24 hour in home care that Brian will need, we have set up this Go Fund Me account for the Shortz family.
