Brian Ilg

Brian passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on January 8th. We are heartbroken for the loss of him, baffled by the overwhelming physical pain he endured, and mystified by the way his shining self rose above it. His fight with EB was a long, painful, horrible one, yet he handled it with grace and a smile. Brian was the true definition of a hero that fought EB with strength, bravery and a sense of humor. He brought joy to everyone who knew him.

It is hard to imagine a life without Brian, especially for his mother Arlene and sister Annalise, who was also Brian's bone marrow donor.

Everyone who knew him got a little chance to give him a part of themselves, and each of us is richer for it. If you didn't have the chance to meet Brian we know, we know you are here because you've followed his journey, prayed for him and cared for him.

The money from this GOFUNDME will be donated to the Ilg family for Funeral expenses.

Services will be held at Ruland Funeral Home, 500 North Ocean Ave, Patchogue
